Giveaway time

I am still waiting to hear about chemo.  Should find out this Friday.

As the title says it is giveaway time.  Rusty has been itching to pick names again.

Will draw 2 names for a variety of patterns each.  I believe they all came from shop hops and/or were given to me.

Comments - How about telling me a little bit of where you are.

Hoops to jump through - NONE except I must be able to contact you via email.  So if you are a no-reply blogger leave an email address in your comment.  syvisser@gmail(dot)com is a safe format which I have used several times with no problems.  If I cannot contact you I will have Rusty pick another name.

Names will be drawn on Saturday Dec 12 or Sunday Dec 13, 2015.

Hurry up and wait again!

Still don't know about chemo etc.  Another test needs to be done on the tumor that was removed which will take 2 weeks.  With Thanksgiving next Thursday most businesses are also closed on Friday so my next appointment with my Oncologist is in 3 weeks to find out.

I will be doing hormone therapy but if needing chemo, the chemo gets done first.  They can't start it for another 3 to 4 weeks anyway as they want you completely healed up from surgery before starting.  So now Dec 11 is the day, appointment is in the morning.

Managed to sew on some buttons and beads which finished the block off.

Might start on Nov block tomorrow depending on how much discomfort this causes.

Am still alive and kicking

Had my surgery and am recovering.  Haven't been working on any crafts yet.  Am hoping to do a little bit of stitching today.

Don't know about chemotherapy, radiation and/or hormone therapy yet.  Should find that out this Friday afternoon.

Will keep you posted.

Results - wait no more

We didn't know that he had a rush on the results.  We got them this afternoon.

The oncologist suspected that the breast cancer had migrated to my spine as I have been so stiff and sore then something showed up on a PET scan.  Turns out there is NO cancer in my spine.  I just have a wonky disc.

So I see the plastic surgeon on the 21st then he and the surgeon will set a date for surgery.

Hurry up and wait - again

MRI was this morning, results take about 2 business days so now get to hurry up and wait again.  It is the not knowing that is driving me crazy.

More Waiting

Saw the surgeon today.  Still do not know the surgery date.  Now things are hinging on the MRI, also need to see the Plastic Surgeon and my Oncologist again.  At that point either 2 or 3 of them will get together and decide what needs to be done.  They are quite concerned about the spot on my back.  So more wait and see.

This afternoon got some dates & times.

MRI this friday morning
Plastic Surgeon 21th

Once the MRI results are in will see the oncologist to go over the results.

In the meantime my hands have been too shaky for handwork plus my heart has not been into it.  Tomorrow I will try again to get something done no matter how small.

W.I.P August 4, 2015

I have so many projects on the go per usual.

This is what I am mainly concentrating on currently. Learning Thread Painting.  For those that do not know this is usually done with 1 strand of floss and with multi colors for shading.  It is a lot of work but well worth it.

If you are interested go poke around NeedlenThread.  That is where I found the class for this technique.  My husband had bought me a book from Trisha Burr that I just fell in love with but needed way more practice and this is finally sinking in.

Big news for me

One of my blocks is in the Crazy Quilt Quarterly Magazine.  For some it might not be a big deal but I have only been doing CQ for about 1 1/2 years so to me it is a BIG deal.  It is under the reader submission area.

2 Semi finishes

Have 2 more quilt tops finished.

First up is what I am calling Bargello of the Sea.  It doesn't show in the picture but the borders bring out the fish and coral in the one print.  Am thinking of gentle waves for the quilting.

Next up is from a local quilt shops BoM.  Will probably just do stitch in the ditch for this one.  Don't know how I will quilt the borders.  The picture is a little dark and yellowy guess I forgot to use the flash.

This one was done in August 2014

This one was done about 3 weeks ago.

This one was just finished today.

All so different.  Which one is your favorite.

What I have been working on.

Finally finsihed my April CQJP block.  Still not completely happy with the upper right corner but anything I tried just didn't seem to fit so am leaving it alone.

Can you find all 4 of the Easter Eggs?

Have most of the basic seams done for the May block.

What I have been working on.

I have been concentrating on my Stitchmap BCQC class lately.

I am ready to start embroidery on my projects.  In Stitchmap you have a finished product in each class you take.  No blocks floating around when done.

This one will be a Thread Roll Up

These 2 will be needle books.

This one will be a pin cushion.

On top of these I am trying to keep up with my local BoM's and my Feathered Star class.  Everything else I have been letting slide a bit.

I have just signed up for Kathy's ICQC103 Embellishing with Threads class.   Luckily the blocks for this class were made up in an earlier class.

W.I.P. 4-22-2015

It's been awhile since I posted.  Been keeping myself pretty busy.

Got the quilting finished on Mimi's Bloomers.  Binding is attached just need to trim then hand sew the back of the binding.  It is getting too warm to have this in my lap though so it might be awhile before it gets done.

Atlantis Rising has 2 1/2 more blocks to quilt.  I did all of the sashing and borders after I quilted around the blocks.  Will be a bit before I get back to this as my machine went in for a spa treatment (cleaning).,

This is this months block for the Feathered Star class.  I did it ahead of time because the machine needed to go in.  It is now all put together and packed away.

CQJP 2015 April block - needs some more work but is getting there.

I am also doing Kathy Shaw's "Working with Dyes and Paints class" this is what I did this morning.  I am hoping that some of the colors will lighten up some more overnight.  The lace motifs are not completely dry yet.

Stitchmap - Basic Crazy Quilting (need to do the basic class before being able to take the intermediate or advanced).

Picked out material for doing a set consisting of Roll-up, Pincushion and Needlebook.  Worked with 3 different sets then have to chose 1.  This is the one I chose.

Other than these I am trying to do a couple of cq hearts for a swap also trying to get a cq heart done for someone in the hospital.

So been busy to the point of not knowing which way is up some days.
